Today I am writing a makeup review of MUA academy (Make up Academy) luxe velvet lip lacquers in tranquility, halcyon, aflush and serene. You might have read my previous review of reckless and atomic and kooky. You also know that I do love these velvet lip lacquers but like with all products, some shades are better than others due to pigmentation and event texture. These MUA velvet lip lacquers promise to be long-lasting and kiss proof. The formula is very rich and it comes in a frosted glass like packaging with a doe foot applicator. The luxe velvet lip lacquers promise to get dry in second and after that they are set to last a long time.

MUA academy luxe velvet lip lacquers in Halcyon & Tranquility

After I stated the company claims, I wanted to focus on each shade this time around. The first shade I wanted to mention in this makeup review of MUA academy velvet lip lacquers was tranquility. Tranquility is a lighter shade than Halcyon. I would say that tranquility is a true nude shade bit it has a warmer undertone which will look good on all skin tones. The color does not streak and it’s very pigmented. MUA academy luxe velvet lip lacquers in Halcyon is darker shade than tranquility and it is more like a darker skin tone shade. This shade reminds me of a matte lipstick which Kylie Jenner wore in one of her well know instagram pictures. Halcyon is also very pigmented and does not streak.

MUA academy luxe velvet lip lacquers in Aflush & Serene

MUA academy luxe velvet lip lacquers in aflush is a beautiful pink family lip color which is also very opaque and does not streak. It gives your lips a warm pinkish red shade which looks natural on the lips and is ideal for day wear. MUA academy luxe velvet lip lacquers in serene is the lightest shade in the collection is a true cool pink shade. This shade reminds me of the lip color which can be seen on Iggy Azalea. This to is the shade which I least like because it’s not as opaque as the other shades when applying with a lip brush. This is the shade which I recommend that you first apply a similar lip liner and then other that the velvet lip lacquer. I have to apply a generous amount on my lips to keep it from streaking. I love the shade, it’s very pigmented but I think it’s the hardest shade to work with. I do recommend that you only use the doe foot which comes with the lip lacquer so that you get the best results.

This completes my makeup review and swatches of MUA academy luxe velvet lip lacquers in tranquility, halcyon, aflush and serene. Just to mention it in this review, these lip lacquers will crack and start to fade after 3 hours if used alone. The lasting power is longer when a liner is used. The lip lacquers will start to crack and fade when it comes in contact with larger amounts of water and anything oily. Make sure to apply this quickly since it dries fast and over applying will only cause the lip lacquers to crack. For a price of 3 BP this is a good deal if you do not want to spend your money on more expensive similar products and if you do not have a problem with reapply the lip lacquers.
