I decided to dedicate a post for foreigners visiting the Dalmatian Coast.  Most people that visit cities on the Dalmatian coast walk around in their swimsuits. This commonly happens in smaller towns such as Makarska, where the beach is part of “downtown”.
One thing that people forget when visiting other countries, cities and towns is that those are inhabited places.  Meaning people live there all year round.
Just because there is a beach located downtown, it does not mean that you are allowed or it is “normal” to walk around in your swimsuit.
Spain has had the same problems and will now fine foreigners for walking around downtown in swimsuits. They put up signs telling people from which point on, they are not allowed to wear swimsuits and must be full dressed.

I personally find it to be very bad mannered if you walk around in your swimsuit, in the heart of a local town/city (downtown). You might sometimes want to stop and look around and you will notice that most people are fully dressed.

The point of this story is to respect local cities/towns that you visit. Please bare in mind that no one (general public) wants to see your swimsuit edition outside of the beach.

If you do not have any throw on dress with you, then you should always carry a pareo

You know how the saying goes
“When in Rome, do as Roman do.”
