I first heard of Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation two years ago from a small circle of makeup artist. At that time I really wasn’t into liquid foundation since I was working on cream foundations and loving them. I have been looking for a good long lasting liquid foundation forever. I find that many long wearing foundation oxidize on oily skin what is a big no-no for me and it is frustrating. But for certain skin types, you have to have liquid foundation or your kit is just not complete.

Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation

I bought these sample products at CRCmakeup. They offer a lot of samples and I have a very hard time understanding why some brands do not offer samples, nor descriptions or swatches. This has never been a problem at camera ready cosmetics and this is why I shop by them. Today I’m doing swatches and a makeup review of Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation. As you read above, they come in two options, ultra PRO foundation and ultra foundation. They are the same thing just the PRO is a smaller bottle and is more travel friendly, while ultra is the bigger bottle. They also have the Face Atelier Ultrasheer PRO products, which are liquid highlighters, which you can use to make the foundation more dewy if desired.

Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation swatches

I was going to buy all the samples of Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation and swatches but in the end thanks to Kevin James Bennett’s recommendations, I bought the targeted shades, which you can see swatched below. There are 12 shades. What are the undertones? I will write about that later below in detail, but to sum it up, there are mainly yellow to olive (for light – medium skin tones) and WOC undertones. The best thing about this Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation is that WOC are very well covered here. Face atelier also offers four color adjuster so that you can get your idea undertone and shade. Due to the foundations formula you do not need a primer, it’s basically built in this is what they claim. After testing the foundation for a good year, on a few others, and myself I wanted to conclude this review with a bit of my two cents, so here we go.

Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation

The Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation is very lightweight foundation which even sensitive skin will love. It looks amazing on all skin types and gives a natural semi-dewy finish. If you have oily skin, I do recommend a matte primer or to get the Face Atelier ultra matte spray (use it before and after). You can get the Face Atelier ultra camouflage duet concealers to cover any very dark spots or dark circles, which the foundation wasn’t able to cover. The foundation is a true medium to heavy liquid foundation what is rare amongst liquid foundation so any minor flaw and redness will be covered. The color range is yellow to olive and shades for WOC. Women of color are so well covered here, you won’t believe it yourself.

Face Atelier Adjusters

The only problem I have encountered with Face Atelier adjusters is getting a true pink undertone. I love heat but heat is an orange red adjuster, which is amazing for WOC and for people with warmer undertones. It was hard to make a very fair true yellow with pink undertone. I found myself reaching for my other color adjuster to get the problem fixed. This is the only complaint I have about these adjusters; they need to make a few more adjusters, for one a pink or cool red.

Overall this Face Atelier Ultra PRO Foundation is amazing. It’s going in my kit and staying their, I will just have to mix the foundation myself to make my own colors and undertones and then transfer that into new bottles to fix the problem since I hate mixing on spot.
