Dreft fashion show report, I can describe it in a few words: Champagne, purple with green filling macaroons, beauty bloggers and amazing fashion!
This week was a very exciting week for me. I was everywhere and running about the whole week and my whole weekend continued in the same motion. Trust me I ain’t complaining. I was invited to go to Dreft Fashion Week, the third fashion show in Croatia during the fall season. I went to a fashion show in Croatia 2 time before this one. The first one was to the First cro-a-porter by the founder Victor Drago (correct me if I am wrong please). It was in a private parking lot/garage and it was quite fun and creative, but I think it was a bit chilly. In those times I used to go to many fashion and jewelry shows and it was trend to have a fashion show in very Avant-garde locations.
The second fashion show I ever went to was one fashion show in Croatia at that time, I think this was like 7 years ago (not Dreft nor Cro-a-porter some third show) and it was horrible! My friend from the states had her bikini fashion show and I only heard horrible things from her about the models and backstage experience. I remember her complaining how the models she worked with were the worst and most unprofessional models she has ever worked with. They had cellulite and were complaining that they weren’t going to wear bikinis….etc. She has done her shows in many fashion shows across the US but has never has such bad and unprofessional models. This, I think is the worst thing that can happen when a model refuses to do her job. I would get pissed off if I was a designer. Anyway during that same show, back seven years ago, we had to wait 45 MINUTES between each show! In the end, I left right away after my friends catwalk and said I would never attend another fashion show in Croatia.
As stated earlier, I attended Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb 2011 and I took the wrong camera lens, for the love of sweet baby Jesus!!! In the end, I was not happy with my pictures but I will show you a few pics and a video of the fashion show. Before the Fashion show, we had a beauty blogger meet up! I was happy that I was able to attend at least one day and spend time with other beauty bloggers. I love the blogger community. I also ran into a few of my favorite well known Croatian Fashion Bloggers (Sad Pony Guerrilla Girl,Gypsy Gardens)and a few new ones. We had such a fun time. During the beauty blogger meet up, we met Croatia’s Max Factors MUA Vanesa Copic, a really lovely lady. We got a beautiful unexpected gift bag. I have to state that I did not like my makeup that I did for Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb 2011, I was in a rush, excuse my makeup!
I was sad to have found out that I would not be attending the other two evenings of Dreft’s fashion week. I was really looking forward to attending this fashion week. Unlike one of my other experiences, I really liked this one. The show went on with such ease, that I was amazed. The shows had like a 5 minute break in between each catwalk and it wasn’t exhausting. I very much liked the first 2 designers and their very creative fashion. Next time your in Zagreb, make sure to see if there is a fashion show going on if there is, .. attend it! Here was the program I attended. More pics below!
