The Beauty Blogger Tag

Today is random Friday so I decided to to a beauty bloggers tag. Catching up on my beauty blogger blogs I ran into the lovely Danielle over at misssunshinesparkle who tagged  all ‘Beauty Bloggers’ and honestly I love doing tags, so send them my way. This tag is almost all beauty related (my favorite kind).  Hopefully it will make a good read and without further ado… bring it tag… bring it

Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

My hair has a naturally straight and it never wants to curl, curse you hair! My hair is very thick and there is so much of it that every hair dresser that sees my hair stops and can’t figure out how much hair I got since on first glance they would never say that I have that much hair.  I always have to blow dry my hair or else I get sick, even during summer except when I am at the beach but I still do have to dry my hair pretty well with my towel.

Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I pretty much always dye my hair myself, unless I need a hair cut or I want a dramatic colour change, then go to a hair salon.

Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

Since my hair is more stubborn then my attitude it’s usually the same hair do over and over and over again. To avoid screaming in the morning I do wear my hair different every day for example one day I work on volume, the second day my hair is in a messy bun and the third day I use my favorite dry shampoo to get my volume back and since I use my dry shampoo as hair spray (some can be used like this) I am able to get wavy hair.

Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

I always do my own since I like to keep my nails as simple as possible. I also had a bad experience with a pedi-salon and never went into one again.

How often do you change your nail polish?

When I do wear one it’s around every third day. I get very bored of looking at the same nail polish, on my hands and feet. They chip every three days. This is why I like nude nails polishes since I can get an extra day even if they are chipped.

Do you polish your toes in the winter or just in the summer?

I try to polish my nails during winter. I really have tried but in the end I only do it if the polish is a nude shade. During summer on the other hand or better said as soon as I can flash my nails on my feet, color is all whats it about. I really love nail polish on my toes.

How long does it take for you to put on your makeup?

Everyday makeup about 15 minutes. If I am in a rush then 10 minutes or less. When I am going to a dinner party or out dancing then I take my time and it takes me about 60+ minutes since I prep my skin and do my full makeup.

What do you do first, face or eyes?

Depends on what kind of makeup I am doing. For day makeup I always first do my face then my eyes since for day makeup I like to look fresh and dewy and sometimes keep my eye makeup very basic. For heavier makeup, I apply my foundation last since I want prep my skin and want it to properly intake in my skincare products.

Do you ‘collect’ makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I do a bit of both, but I am a makeup collector and hate myself for it. I always buy more then I need and now I am blessed to get samples and this has helped me control my makeup addiction. I honestly now usually only buy makeup that I truly need since my makeup collection is full and there is no point in collection makeup I already have and still can use.

How often do you wear false eyelashes?

Honestly almost every single day. I can go without my foundation, blush and even lipstick but my eyes, no. I find that I love my eyes and have always though they were my best feature on my face and always have them and my eyebrows defined.

Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

No, since I want my skin to get some rest. There are days usually at the beginning of the week when I rest my skin from makeup and just focus on light skincare routine. It is very important to let your skin rest from everything. Full face makeup I only do for evening makeup or any form of special events.

Do you wear makeup when your home alone, or with family?

Yes, since makeup makes me feel fresh and then I do not have to worry about looking like a dead man walking. I do take off my makeup after 6 pm if I know that I am not going anywhere and prep it with my everyday skin care routine.

Will you leave the house without makeup?

Yes, since I have places to go where I cannot wear makeup, such as extreme sports, going to the gym …etc. I do have NO MAKEUP days where I forbid myself to wear makeup since I usually wear full makeup during the weekends.

How many high-end products do you have? 

I have quite a few in my collection (due to work) and love only buying high-end products that I know can’t be beaten by drugstore products. There are products that I just can’t live without like a good foundation. I have drugstore and high-end foundations that I just love but when it comes to eye shadows they are almost never high-end. The majority of my makeup for my personal use on a daily base is drugstore makeup since I really love it.

Do you plan your OOTD every night or decided when you are getting dressed?

Sometimes, I do think about what I am going to wear tomorrow and what would make me feel good and look good. But in general that plan never works since I wake up in a totally different mood depending on the weather. I usually decided what I am going to wear based on how I feel in the morning.

How often do you change your handbag?

I cannot live without my handbag. Sad isn’t it!

What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

During the weekday, I usually wake up around 8  depends and I try to go to bed before midnight. If I drink a cup of white coffee or any coffee after 5 pm then I will not be able to fall asleep before 2am. I am very hyperactive and have a hard time falling asleep, so I drink bed times teas that will make me a bit oozy (or that is what I hope), but during the weekend I am one of those rare people that loves to get up really early and go to sleep quite late. Makes no scene I know, this means I do not get enough rest during the weekends.

How often or when do you workout?

I am working on this and have been for years. My number one problem is getting out of the house. When I get into a routine I usually workout 2 – 3 times a week and every time I do something different. I love being fit and want to be fit as long as I can. I believe that a healthy diet and working out 2-3 times a week will be beneficial on the long run.

Left handed or right handed?

I’m right handed!

How tall are you?

I’m pretty sure its around 5’8/5’9, is that tall?

Do you speak any foreign language?

Yes, I speak Croatian. I speak very little of Italian. I used to speak 6 languages in high school.

How many pets do you have?

One little kitten (cat to be honest) and I love her to bits. She will forever be my baby.

How often are you on blogger?

I love blogging and I blog everyday (Youtube videos on Tuesdays and Thursdays). I do take time out of my busy schedule to focus on read other blogs. Usually weekends I sit and waste a few hours visiting fellow bloggers and commenting. I never see the point in visiting someones blog and not leaving a comment!

Do you read comments posted on blogs?

One of the most important things as a blogger, I personally believe is interaction. Interacting with other beauty bloggers and reading comment is the first thing I do before I leave a comment on someones blog. I just love the whole blogging experience and do not understand bloggers that never visit other blogs.

Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

All beauty blogger have a very long wish list of things we see on other blogs. I was just reading my 20th blog today and saw at least like five things that I wanted to buy. So I write it down on my wish list and go through my makeup collection to see if I have something like or similar and buy it if I don’t.

How did you come up with your Blog name?

The number one thing I had a problem with was choosing the name of my blog. I got it right after the third time. I don’t really know how I got the name but I always did like Smashing Pumpkins and I think I was in some phase but when I combined SmashinBeauty (with no G) it just made perfect sense. I wanted the name to be without the G since I wanted a more modern slang name.

What kind of camera do you use for your photographs? 

It’s a Canon and the camera is not mine but I borrow it every time I need it. These kind of cameras are expensive and I do not recommend you buy one just because you are blogging since there are many other cameras that are cheaper and get the same job done.

How often do you clean your house?

What has this got to do with beauty blogging? I have to clean my flat everyday since we leave near a busy street and dust accumulates like no ones business. I hate cleaning but someone’s got to do it.

What’s your favourite colour?

Yet another no makeup related question. It really depends on the season, but in general my favorite colors are: red, purple and yellow

Do you swear?

Very rarely I admit I do. I honestly do not like swearing and find it nasty but I do understand that there are moments when one just can’t express themselves and a swear word pops out! Swear words used when joking must be used in a tasteful manner or else it just seems bad.

What are you doing with the rest of your day?

Well it’s 2 pm now and I have a few business meetings to attend, have lunch and run some errands, just my everyday scenario, nothing out of the ordinary for my everyday life.
