I am a big fan of BB and CC creams for everyday use. I actually wrote an article explaining the difference between BB, CC and tinted moisturizers. Since I do not recommend or use foundation on a daily base. Since BB and CC creams are a bit thicker than your tinted moisturizer. I find that I get more for my buck. I have read many positive reviews about this bb cream and even on some well-known beauty websites it was highly recommended. The problem I have with Revlon is that they use some ingredient that is very pore clogging (aka comedogenic). If you have combination to oily skin then you will encounter this with many drugstore foundations. I love their Revlon colorstay foundation but after 3 or 4 days of continuous use (even though I cleaned my face properly) my skin broke out in such severe acne that wouldn’t go away for a good month. I have tried many bb creams, from drugstore to high-end. To be honest, I usually go with the high-end bb creams due to the ingredients and overall results. I have combination to oily skin that is acne prone.

Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Skin Perfector

For my makeup review I choose the lightest Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Skin Perfector SPF 30, since wintertime I’m quite light. The bb cream had a very strong yellow undertone. I’m neutral so, I managed to pull it off. The bb cream was light enough, so if you are quite pale then this is the shade for you. The foundation actually felt like it was a gel like formula. It was thicker than the normal drugstore bb creams. The wear time of the bb cream was impressive, even for my combination and oily skin, around 4 hours. Something similar to my Illamasqua skin base foundation. I didn’t notice that it oxidized. The foundation did blur my flaws this is what I loved about it. I actually saw this with my eyes and was amazed. My pores and fine lines did look smaller and less noticeable. I felt like I had some instagram filter on my face. Also came with spf 30, what is awesome.

Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Skin Perfector Review

During the testing makeup review testing period, I did notice that the Revlon photoready bb cream was very hydrating. My skin is combination and oily so it does need in certain areas more hydration. The bb cream offers very light coverage, just enough to balance the skin out but not enough to actually cover any more serious case of redness or cover flaws like dark circles.

What I didn’t like about this Revlon photoready bb cream, was that like the Revlon colorstay foundation, it broke me out like crazy after using it for 10 days. I applied the bb cream on around 8 am and at the end of the day I noticed that I had not one, but six small white pimples. The more I used it the worse my skin got. The same thing happened, at the end of the day, new tiny pimples formed and then after 4 days I got cystic acne, same reaction as to their colorstay foundation. In no way did I expect a bb cream to break me out like this. Based on my personal experience, here is what I think! If your skin broke out from their Revlon colorstay foundation, then their bb cream will equally break you out or worse, if you have acne-prone skin. There is something in their formula that clogs my pores like no ones business. This is the reason I usually do not buy any face products from Revlon, nor will I after this final experience. It took my skin one month to clear up. I was prevented from reviewing other facial products thanks to my serious case of acne breakout. Revlon photoready bb cream might be amazing for people with normal to dry skin, but for me sadly it didn’t work.
