La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus + Beauty Product Review

You might have read my coverage of the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus event presentation. During the presentation we learned more about acne and why the new efflaclar duo plus was important and what innovation the plus sign brought to the table We also got this product as a PR sample to test if we wanted to. For my beauty product review of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo, I tested the product 3 weeks then I intentionally stopped using it just to see what would happen. The main difference with the new effaclar is that it also removed and diminishes acne scars and hyperpigmentation and helps prevent and permanent damages on the skin, which comes from picking acne. We that suffer from adult acne know that we always pick at our acne.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus

As the previous version of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo, plus also helps to prevent clogged pores what means that you shouldn’t get any more breakouts. The most important ingredient in this product is Procerad. This is a ceramide that helps protect the skin from red and brown spots. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus claims to show results after 24 hours and after 8 days it will reduce the appearance of any red or dark spots and after 4 weeks your pores will be clean as a whistle. The gel-cream should also help control shine on your skin and keep your skin hydrated 24 hours, which can be used instead of a primer if you are going to apply makeup.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] Plus anti-blemish cream

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus Review

My skin type is combination to oily and acne prone; it’s also thin and sensitive. I have adult acne due to many reasons but mainly due to hormones. Under my cheeks and down to my jaw line I have been struggling with acne since I have become an adult, I also get can on my chin. The way I used this cream was to only apply it on the targeted area. In order to see what would happen if I used the gel-cream on my combination parts of my skin, for my review I applied the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus on my forehead that is combination skin and has no acne. This product couldn’t have com in a better time since I just ran out of my acne cream and have been wanting to test this product for a while but was worried that it would dry out my skin or cause even more breakouts. I have experienced that some acne creams are to aggressive, the way your skin reacts to acne will depend on the type of acne you have this is why some people break out from some acne creams.

I cannot compare La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus because I didn’t have the previous version but reading reviews online I can see that there is a difference with the color and texture. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus has a more milky color and the texture is very smooth so it glides on to the skin with ease and your skin absorbs the gel-cream really fast. My skin did feel instantly smooth after application.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus Beauty Product Review

For this beauty product review I did used the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus gel-cream twice a day, in the morning and before I went to bed. I used the same amount around a dime or nickel on my targeted area. After 24 hours, I did notice that my skin felt smoother but nothing else. After 10 days I did start to notice that my dark spots did looked lighter. When I applied the cream to my normal skin, on my forehead, that had no acne issues, the next day my skin broke out. The spot retracted after 4 days when I stopped didn’t apply the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus on that area. After 3 weeks dark spots looked brighter and my skin looked more evened out. During these 3 weeks my skin did get some tiny acne spots (like up to 3 or 5) but nothing like it usually did. I tend to get almost every type of acne (except cystic) on my below cheek area if I am not using an acne cream. After I stopped using the acne cream my skin stayed the same. Only on my chin did I get my usually size acne when I stopped using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus for seven days. The gel-cream didn’t dry my skin but kept it hydrated and really did what it promised.

If you have acne due to hormones and/or some light case of acne on your skin, I do recommend this cream since this is the first cream that didn’t dry out my skin. For me it worked and I will continue to buy it but since I only use a dime size of the cream for half my face it will last me a long time.
