I basically have been super busy lately as you might have noticed. But, I always find the time to wake up early in the morning have breakfast on my balcony and read a few blog posts :))) I love my morning routine 🙂 It’s very important for me to rest after I woke up before the craziness hits at 10am. I wanted to share some advice on the DOS and DON’Ts of HOT HOT HOT summer days and nights…

MAKEUP & HEALTH

During the Summer I don’t wear as much makeup as I do during the fall/winter/spring period. I like to get as much vitamin D as possible. I do wear sunscreen … but only when I’m at the coast (sea coast). What do I then to keep my skin so fresh and awesome? Read on for a few tips very helpful tips 😉

1) GO TO SLEEP ON TIME OR EARLIER  = FRUITFUL DAY

Why? you might ask? Most people get up even earlier during the summer period. The sun is knocking on your window around 5:30 and if your not like me, a light sleeper, then your out of luck and you’ll be waking up at 6am every morning. Why do you wake up that earlier? I personally do not know but I do believe that it has something to do with the following thing:

  • I’m light sleeper
  • vitamin D (the sun light)
  • stress
So, my advise is wake up early around 7am, not only will you get a lot of vitamin D, but you’ll have a long fruitful day!
 

2) SUBSTITUTE MARKET 

During HOT HOT summer days and nights makeup melts you can’t stop it but wearing foundation it’s not as healthy as it normally is during hot days.Why? Your pores will filled with the makeup what will be very bad for your skin. So what can one woman do? 
FOUNDATION
Substitute foundation for light tinted moisturise (oil free for oily skin) 
MASCARA
Substitute your carbon black mascara for the waterproof version or clear mascara. Don’t forget to curly your lashes, it does wonders.
LIPSTICK
is so yesterday, you can substitute it for either lip gloss or your favorite Chapstick or even a lip stain 
BLUSH
You can do a few things
1) buy a cream blush
2) pinch your cheeks, the blood rush will make your cheeks turn rosy red and you got A la natural blush of course the rosiness vanishes after a few minutes 
SKIN CARE 
Wash your face morning and evening, apply your normal face cream, something with a lighter texture preferably if you have normal skin. 
 

FLUID 

Substitute your morning coffee for something healthier and better for your body. You can substitute it for the following things: 
  1. A homemade healthy protein shake  (please read below for a recipe) 
  2. fruit shake
  3. any freshly squeeze juice 
  4. fruity water 😉
  5. water 
Mainly anything that will give you enough natural vitamins. Someone might be asking why? Your morning cup of Joe will set your body on a roller-coaster of highs and lows. It will suck the water from your body leaving you with the feeling of being exhausted. Please feel free to read more on why coffee isn’t all that good for you  http://www.naturalnews.com/012352.html but do know I’m a coffee drinker… but I do not drink it during the summer period. It exhausts my body leaving me drowse all day long….This also applies to breakfast tea (as I like to call it) 

EATING HEALTHY

Eat IN SEASON fruits and vegetables and try to buy your meat from “animal friendly farms”. Remember Eat lots of berries. They contain anthocyanins, a powerful antioxidant, that boosts energy.

CLOTHES

Wear cotton, colorful and light material clothes. Your body will love it! It will be able to breath, remember summer is GOOD for your body, your body recharges during the summer period! Give it freedom! Don’t for get to swim or workout but not in the heat !

SWIMMING, TANNING & WORKING OUT

OK, most of you know this but I’ll repeat it. DO NOT SWIM/ TAN between 10:30am – 4 pm DO NOT! During that time you will ONLY harm your skin ad you will EXHAUST your body, I warned you it’s the most DANGEROUS time when you can be exposed to the sun. DO SWIM/ TAN from 6am – 10:30am and 4pm – 8pm You might not get a SUPER DARK tan but you will still get a tan… the point of summer is to have fun and relax not torment your body. DO NOT EXERCISE between 10am – 5/6pm – the sun is to strong and it will exhaust you! This is for working outside. DO EXERCISE between 6am-10am and 5/6pm – 9pm. Even though some experts say that working out in the evening is unhealthy for you  because you get your body going and then you can’t fall asleep

ALCOHOL

One thing, to each it’s own! Beware that alcohol doesn’t sucks the water out of your body and leaves you dehydrated. If your going to drink, be smart, don’t drive and drink 1 cup of water before you go to sleep. Your body will be grateful in the morning. I also advise that that following morning you have a freshly squeezed juice for breakfast to return the lost vitamins (the alcohol took them).

Healthy Recipe Shake

SHAKE ME WAKE ME SHAKE

  • 1 cup of fresh berries (if you use frozen berries then don’t add ice to the ingredient)
  • 2 cups of milk (or as much as you like it)
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 cup of ice
Put everything in the mixer… mix well until everything turned into a liquidy substance
